They say that if you're not willing to learn a lesson the easy way, life will force you to learn it the hard way.
Well, I had to learn it the hard way 3 times!!!
Many years ago, I was that woman who would show up at the gym at 6am to crush an hour-and-a-half workout before work.
By the time most people were having breakfast, I'd already burned over 400 calories.
And I thought I was doing everything right.
But the weight wasn't coming off.
So I decided I needed to do MORE.
I started squeezing in another 10,000 steps throughout the day, hoping that would finally make a difference.
But it didn't.
And that's when I started wondering if there was something wrong with my body.
I mean, I was exercising more than most people.
I was eating what I thought was super healthy.
So WHY couldn't I fit into my clothes?
WHY wasn't my body changing?
Instead, I was exhausted, constantly sore, and pushing myself harder every day.
I still remember one morning, running on the treadmill, thinking to myself:
"I can't keep doing this."
A few days later, I could barely walk.

I'd fractured my shins from running.
I'd been feeling the pain for months.
But instead of slowing down or taking a rest day, I just kept going.
Why?
Because my fear of slowing down and gaining weight was bigger than my fear of injuring myself.
It wasn't until I had to explain what had happened to the doctor that I realised I had a problem.
"So you've been feeling this pain for a while, but you just kept going?" he asked.
Suddenly, I realised how ridiculous it must have sounded.
Here I was, running for my "health", while destroying my body in the process.
He gave me a list of exercises I could do while recovering.
But none of them sounded tough enough for me.
I was used to pushing my body hard and finishing every workout exhausted.
Swimming?
Not tough enough.
Yoga?
Forget it. I'd tried it once and walked out within 10 minutes.
Pilates?
It was 2004, and I'd never even heard of it.
But a few days later, I found myself walking into my first Pilates class.
At first, I was very resistant to the slow pace.
I was still very much stuck in my "calorie-burning mindset", and I couldn't understand how moving so slowly could possibly do anything for my body.
But after just a few classes, I started noticing something.
My body was beginning to feel different.
And I really liked that feeling.
Against all odds, I became a mat Pilates addict.
I started going to classes almost every day, and within a few weeks, I began seeing changes in my body I'd never imagined possible.
My legs got leaner.
My butt got perkier.
And for the first time in my life, I started seeing my abs!
Me?! 😳 ABS???
I'd spent YEARS exercising like a complete maniac, and now that I was forced to slow down, I was finally getting the results I'd been working so hard for?!
I couldn't quite believe it.
But here's where things get interesting.
As soon as I recovered from my injuries, I went straight back to running and lifting weights.
I figured that if Pilates had given me such great results, adding my old workouts back in would make them EVEN BETTER.
Except... it didn't.
Instead, I went straight back to feeling swollen, bulky and exhausted from working out so much.
My clothes stopped fitting the way I wanted them to.
And even though I'd seen what Pilates could do for my body, I was still too scared to give up my other workouts.
So I treated Pilates as a "side hobby".
Something I'd squeeze in on rest days or when I didn't have enough energy for a "proper" workout.
Now here's the craziest part.
I had to get injured TWO MORE TIMES before I finally let go of everything else and gave Pilates a fair chance.
And that's when everything changed.
I eventually lost 10kg (over 20lbs) and finally achieved those long, lean lines I'd spent years chasing.
So when I tell people that my workouts can transform their bodies, I completely understand when they're skeptical.
After all, it took me getting injured THREE TIMES to finally believe it myself.
But today, I couldn't be more grateful that I did.
I'm free from the constant pressure to exercise more.
I'm no longer spending hours in the gym doing workouts that leave me exhausted.
I no longer live with constant pain in my body.
And at 43 years old, I finally have the body I dreamed of having (and worked so hard for) in my 20s.
And the craziest part?
I got here by working out LESS!

Now here's where I have to be honest with you.
The changes you see here didn't happen overnight.
They took time.
And yes, they also involved making changes to my diet & lifestyle.
But it ALL STARTED with changing the way I exercised.
Because when I was exercising like a maniac, I simply didn't have the time or energy to focus on improving my diet.
I was constantly hungry, tired and craving something sweet.
But once I stopped exhausting myself with workouts, making changes to my diet became so much easier.
And there's something else I want to be honest with you about.
My goal was never to become the person with the biggest muscles in the room.
I LOVE feeling strong.
But I also want to feel light, lean & feminine.
So if your goal is to build significantly BIGGER muscles and add volume to your frame, then what I offer is probably not for you.
Because the workouts I do today are ALL designed for long, lean lines.
Yes, they're inspired by Pilates.
But they also incorporate elements of Yoga and somatic movement.
Because after more than 20 years of experimenting with my own body and working with thousands of clients, I've found this combination works the best.
Pilates to strengthen your deep core, lift your booty and build strength and definition throughout your whole body.
Yoga to improve flexibility, mobility and create those long, lean lines.
And somatic movement to help regulate your nervous system, release tension and bring your body out of that constant state of stress.
Because how you feel in your body matters just as much as how you look.
Now, I know that if you're where I used to be, you're probably thinking...
"I need to burn more calories to get lean."
"I have to lift heavy weights to see muscle definition."
"My body needs tougher workouts to see results."
And I TOTALLY get it.
Because I've been there too.
So rather than trying to convince you, I want you to FEEL the difference for yourself.
And that's exactly why I've created 30 Days To Long Lean Lines starting on Monday November 2nd.
Because I want you to experience what happens when you stop focusing on working out HARDER and start working out SMARTER.

I know trying something new can feel scary.
Especially when we're constantly being told by the fitness industry that we need to push harder, lift heavier and do more if we want to get leaner and more defined.
So being told to do LESS might sound crazy.
Believe me, I know.
It took me THREE injuries to finally get it!
But this approach hasn't just changed my body & my life.
It's also helped over 1,000 of my clients discover a completely different way to move and feel in their bodies.
And now I want you to experience it for yourself.
