My name is Madeleine Karlsson

I'm a TEDx Speaker, a Certified Holistic Health & Nutrition Coach with over 14 years working in the health & fitness industry helping hundreds of people from all over the World change their lives by changing their approach to food & fitness.

I know because I've been there

I spent years trying to "out-exercise" a bad diet. I was using exercise as an excuse to indulge in ice-cream, chocolate, cookies and thought "I burn a ton of calories exercising so I can get away with it".

But guess what?

Your gut doesn't give a damn about how many calories you burn. If what you're eating is causing it harm, no amount of exercise will make up for it.

If anything, it will only make it worse. 

And this was certainly my case.

If you don't listen to your body when it whispers, you will one day hear it scream.

In 2005 I hit a wall and was barely able to walk for several weeks because of all the pain in my body from running, eating inflammatory foods and not giving myself rest.

In 2009 I got diagnosed with Candida, IBS & PCOS.

I couldn't believe it.

In the eyes of my friends and family, I was the healthiest, fittest, most disciplined person on Earth.

Except, I wasn't.

And deep down inside, I knew it.

My body had been telling me for years that I needed to stop but I was afraid of slowing down and instead, I chose to exercise more.

Until one day, I broke down and realised that I couldn't keep going.

This is the day I committed to doing my first cleanse.

And it changed my life forever...

Within a few days I started feeling lighter, less anxious, more energised and more at home in my body.

My belly got flatter, I stopped craving sugar and my mind got clearer too. I felt like a massive cloud had lifted off my shoulders.

For the first time in my adult life, I felt a sense of peace within me and like joy was pouring out of my soul instead of anxiety.

I was no longer a slave to exercise and no longer worrying about how I would burn off what I had eaten.

Preparation is KEY to a successful cleanse. This isn't just about preparing your food but about preparing YOU, mentally, emotionally & from an organisational point of view to get the most out of this cleanse.

 

Meal prepping plan

If your fridge is full of healthy, delicious food you've prepped in advance, you'll eat it.

If you're trying to make new recipes on the fly when you're really hungry, you will fail. 

This is why you'll be sent a detailed meal prepping plan & groceries list to get you set up for a successful cleanse.

You'll need to set aside time to make your groceries and 2-4 hours for meal prepping on Sunday the 12th of February.

A carefully designed cleanse

The problem most people face when wanting to detox or cleanse is not knowing what foods to include, what to exclude and not starve themselves of essential nutrients in the process.

The cleanse I have designed for you is the exact same one I have been following myself under the guidance of my doctor, removing the foods that cause inflammation and bloating and increasing those that promote healing. 

My favourite recipes

As you may know, I love to eat and I'm an Epicurean at heart. Having grown up in a francophile culture where good food is an essential ingredients to a good life and having spent 10 years living on the Mediterranean, I've spent a decent amount of my time trying, testing, tasting and creating the most delicious food. Over the past 14 years I've perfected the art of preparing simple, healthy food that's balanced in nutrients and tastes delicious. 

Now let's be very clear here. This is a cleanse so the objective here is not to make the most delicious food, but to make the food as delicious as possible within the limitations of the cleanse.

Recorded support calls

Cleansing can be taxing in more ways than one. This is why I've recorded a couple of videos to support you with the most common obstacles you are likely to face.

Included in the program is:

  • A pep talk to watch on day 2 or 3 or whenever you feel like things are challenging
  • An informative video of how to prepare for "after" the cleanse so you don't fall back into your old habits when completing the program but continue reaping its benefits.

Yes. The cleanse is designed to reduce inflammation & "puffiness" and will also make you shed some body fat. If your objective is to lose weight, this will be a good start but I recommend that you reach out for information about continued support after to make sure you continue losing weight and/or don't put the weight back on. 

You can start anytime you want within the first 30 days of signing up.

You will need 2-4 hours to prepare your meals before you start.

If you do the meal prepping as advised ahead of time, you will be able to prepare your meals in minutes!

If you don't, it will take a lot longer and you are likely not going to be able to follow the cleanse.

No. There are no workouts included in this cleanse. If you're someone who works out a lot, I recommend that you reduce the intensity & frequency of your workouts during the cleanse and prioritise more gentle forms of movement such as Pilates or Yoga. While the intention of the cleanse is NOT to reduce the amount you eat but to improve the quality of what you eat, you are likely to experience hunger pangs, especially if you are used to eating a diet that is high in carbohydrates & sugar.

The hunger pangs generally don't last for more than a few minutes and gradually reduce over time.

I will be giving you tips to cope with the hunger pangs during the coaching calls. 

No. If you are vegetarian or vegan, this cleanse won't be appropriate for you. The recipes are based on anti inflammatory principles and therefore contain none of the most inflammatory agents namely gluten, dairy, sugar and anything processed. They do contain chicken, fish, eggs and a little seafood. While you can substitute some of the animal protein for another source of protein, I do not recommend doing this cleanse on a vegan diet. 

You will have access to all the content of the program including the recordings of the calls for 30 days from the moment you sign up. The recipes, meal prepping plan & shopping lists are available for you to download and keep forever.

Yes absolutely. While I recommend that you get a proper diagnosis through a stool test, doing this cleanse is already a great start to clearing the overgrowth and reduce symptoms. 

Yes. I recommend that you buy chlorophyll drops to add to your water as this promotes detoxification. I also recommend getting a colonic or buying an enema kit so you can do a cleanse before we start on Monday. Also, make sure you have Tupperwares (in glass) to store your food. Storing in plastic can contaminate your food so I recommend avoiding this.

The good thing about this program is that it will give you a real BOOST that will motivate you to continue after. 

Once you have completed the program you will be given the option to get continued support with my coaching or via one of my programs. 

If you want to redo the cleanse on your own for another week, you can also do that!

Yes absolutely. Detoxing from sugar is ALWAYS a good idea and removing all the things that cause inflammation in your diet will ALWAYS be beneficial for your health.

The Candida cleanse contains no sugar, not even the ones found in fruit. Even though there's nothing "bad" about fruits, this is your opportunity to fully cleanse from all sugar and that includes fruit. It's only 7 days. 

Alcohol is an absolute no because the last thing your liver needs when you're detoxing is to deal with the toxins from alcohol.

Caffeine is also a hard no. 

It's only 7 days.

You get the best results from showing up fully, by leaving all preconceptions at the door and by fully embracing the cleanse, even the parts that may not be so comfortable.

I highly recommend that you prioritise your wellbeing during this week by reducing private & professional commitments and making time for rest & self care.

The detoxification process can be taxing on the body and it's likely you will at times feel worse than before you started. 

This is generally something that happens around day 3, 4 & 5 so plan accordingly.

Make sure you drink plenty of water, give a heads up to your loved ones that you're doing this and ask for their patience and support. It's only 7 days.

You will get out of this program what you put into it. If you stick with the guidelines of the cleanse, you will see & feel a huge transformation in your body. Any bloating will reduce or disappear completely, your energy will increase and you will feel more upbeat, have a clearer mind and likely lose some weight too.

For best results, I recommend that you eat all your meals at home during this cleanse. It's only 7 days. If you're going to do it, do it fully. Most of the meals can be packed into lunches or breakfasts to take with you to work or you can eat before going out if you have social events planned. 

The Candida cleanse is based around non starchy vegetables, fish, chicken & seafood as well as healthy fats from olive oil, seeds & avocado.
