It’s a biological response to imbalance.
Here’s what’s likely going on:
Your nervous system is stuck in “go mode,” and food becomes the quickest way to force your body into relaxation — especially if you’ve had no other form of decompression.
This causes blood sugar crashes later on — and your brain sends urgent signals for fast energy (hello, sugar and carbs).
This creates a spike → crash → craving cycle that gets worse by evening.
Lack of quality sleep elevates ghrelin (the hunger hormone) and decreases leptin (the satiety hormone) — making you hungrier, less satisfied, and more likely to overeat at night.
This isn’t a discipline issue.
It’s your body crying out for balance.
And pushing harder — eating less, training more, trying to “be good” — only deepens the stress.
